Join The Band

The band is able to field a healthy number of pipers, but we are always adding new members to the ranks. We are particularly keen to hear from drummers in the Aberdeen area.

Our engagement schedule is regarded as low-moderate with most events  either a morning, afternoon or evening affair. Most of our performances involve a 2 x 25 mins stint with a break in the middle. This makes the band ideal to those who cannot commit to a competing outfit, but would still like to maintain a high standard of practice and playing.

The band usually rehearses every second Monday by arrangement. Our practices are split between chanter work and playing pipes and drums as a band. Presently we are practicing at the Gordon Highlander’s Museum, Aberdeen.

We are also interested to hear from any former Gordon Highlanders or Gordon Highlander families out there who may have items of uniform they no longer require or wish to donate to the band. Our band manager, Bill Blacklaw, will be delighted to hear from you.
