• Beginners
This brings new pupils to a recognised level of lessons in piping equal to that laid down by the syllabus of the Institute of Piping for their Preliminary Certificate of qualification ensuring that pupils have the maximum opportunity to realise any potential in piping.

• Novices
This helps students who have now moved on to the Bagpipe but have a limited repertoire. Bringing students to a recognised level of lessons in piping equal to that laid down by the Syllabus of the Institute of Piping in simple march tunes, Gaelic Airs and Finger Technique and Movements.

• Advanced
This aids students to a recognised level of lessons in piping equal to that laid down by the Syllabus of the Institute of Piping for their Junior Certificate of qualification. Instruction in bagpipe maintenance & reed adjustment.

Once pupils have reached this stage of excellence they will then be advanced onto the senior programme. Pipers who are already at this stage should contact us directly for further information.


Pupil Requirements: Practice chanter and/or Bagpipes (complete with reeds) and course books.
The piping school can assist providing the pupil with requirements for each course

Places available: Max. 6 pupils per class

Dates of Courses: Tuesday evening within the School calendar.

Tutors for each course: Resident Tutor & Guest Tutor if required
